On December 9, 2024, the Provincial Custody of the Immaculate Conception and Bl. Bonaventure of Potenza in the Philippines celebrated the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The friars from various friaries, together with some postulants and observers, gathered together at the St. Joseph Friary in Tagaytay City, the Philippines.
At 9:00 a.m., Friar Anthony LAJATO, from the Province of St. Bonaventure in the USA, gave a Marian conference entitled: “Our Lady of Guadalupe: Woman of Advent.” He pointed out Mary’s role as the first missionary because she brought forth the Word and because of how she helped the Franciscan friars in their mission to Mexico through her apparition to St. Juan Diego.
At 11:30 a.m., a Mass was celebrated, and before the final blessing, the Provincial Custos, Friar Emmanuel GIVA, led the renewal of consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary, using the formula of the Solemn act of Consecration by St. Maximilian Kolbe.
