January 6, 2024, marked the 60th anniversary of the arrival of Friar Vittorio DI NARDO in Korea. On Thursday, January 11, 2024, the friars of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in South Korea gathered at the St. Francis Friary in Seoul to celebrate this anniversary.

They celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Friar Vittorio’s mission in Korea. Next there was a small celebration and a lunch with some guests. The Minister Provincial, Friar Marco Jin Chol JEONG, presided over the Mass. During the homily a video was shown, which recounted Friar Vittorio’s sixty years of missionary service.

On January 10, 1964, in obedience to the decision of the then Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, Friar Vittorio DI NARDO arrived in Korea where he faithfully performed missionary service for sixty years. At today’s event, all the friars of the Province recognized and thanked their brother for his love and dedication to the Jurisdiction.

Friar Vittorio DI NARDO was born on December 1, 1935, in Campolieto, Italy. He made his simple profession on July 25, 1954, his solemn profession on November 1, 1957, and was ordained to the priesthood on March 12, 1961.
