This course is being offered at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of St. Bonaventure (Seraphicum) in Rome, in collaboration with the Pontifical Salesian University. It is of a practical-operational nature and is intended for those who want to learn and internalize ways of teaching and forming others in consecrated life today, from the Franciscan perspective.

Classes will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays, both in-person and online. All participants will have access to recordings of the classes.

  • Monday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:25 p.m.: Teaching Methods and Formation from the Perspective of Consecrated Life (by faculty members of the Pontifical Salesian University)
  • Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:25 p.m.: Franciscan Teaching Methods and Formation (by faculty members of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of St. Bonaventure)

Study Plan: Teaching Methods from the Perspective of Consecrated Life; Theology of Consecrated Life; Spiritual Discernment; Psychology and Teaching Methods from the Perspective of Community Life; Spiritual Guidance; Franciscan Charism and Spirituality; Franciscan Anthropology; Franciscan Discernment; Franciscan Teaching Methods; Franciscan Missionary Life.

Classes will be held from September 30, 2024, to April 29, 2025, for a total of forty-eight sessions.
The cost of the course is €800.00, payable in two installments. Deadline for registration: September 27, 2024. Minimum qualification required for participation: high school diploma.
At the end of the course, students will be required to write a paper, at least ten pages in length, on one of the course topics. The finished paper will entitle the student to a certificate of completion.
The course is particularly useful for those engaged in formation.
