In April and May of 2024, Friar Dariusz MAZUREK, the Secretary General for the General Secretariat for Mission Animation (SGAM) and Friar Piotr STANISŁAWCZYK, the Secretary General for the General Secretariat for Formation (SGF) visited the formation communities of Italy, Spain and Portugal.

The visits were made to the formation houses of the Federazione Inter-mediterranea Ministri Provinciali (FIMP). In Italy, the secretaries visited the formation houses in Rivotorto, Brescia, Padua, Osimo and Nocera Inferiore. In Spain, they visited the formation house in Madrid, and in Portugal, the formation house in Coimbra.
The visits were conducted in order to meet with the friars in initial formation―those living in formation houses as well as those serving in friaries―who wished to learn more about continuing formation. Friar Piotr STANISŁAWCZYK presented material on ideas important to the Franciscan experience in formation at both the initial and continuing levels. Friar Dariusz introduced the friars to some topics regarding the missiology and missionary activity of our Order and showed some of the actual faces and places connected with our missions.
We are grateful to the individual friars and their communities as a whole, for the great kindness and hospitality they showed us.
