On December 26, 2020, the feast of St. Stephen, Deacon and Martyr, the friars of the Provincial Custody of St. Bonaventure in France-Belgium joyfully celebrated the diaconal ordination of Friar Jérémie-Marie Baptiste MACÉ.
The ordination took place at the Church of Notre Dame in the city of Cholet, the location of the Saint François d’Assise Friary where our confrere lives. Friar Jérémie was ordained to the Diaconate by the laying on of hands and the consecratory prayer of the Most Reverend Emmanuel DELMAS, Bishop of Angers, France. In his homily, the bishop emphasized the triple vocation of a deacon’s service: he is a servant of the Word, of the Eucharistic table and of fraternal charity.
Because of the health regulations in France, only a restricted number of participants could attend the event. Despite this, many others joined the ceremony through prayer or the Internet. To view this joyful celebration, please use the link below:
