On the evening of July 25, 2022, the Provincial Custody of St. Anthony of Padua in Ghana conducted the second part of its Ordinary Custodial Chapter.
During the first two days, the Capitulars discussed the Custodial Four-Year Plan and the Motions that arose in the first part of the Chapter. The theme chosen for the next four-year term is, “Journeying together in Prayer, Fraternity and Mission.” The Custody was blessed to have the Minister General, Friar Carlos Alberto TROVARELLI as the Praeses during the second part. His presence and comments were a blessing the Custody very much needed.
During this session, the Guardians and the heads of the commissions were elected. The following friars were elected to the offices indicated
The new Guardians are Friar Pius Kofi ASARE – Our Lady of the Angels – Portiuncola Friary in Accra; Friar Anthony Senanu ASUH – St. Bonaventure Friary in Accra; Friar Joseph Kwame BLAY – St. Anthony of Padua Friary in Elmina; Friar Moses Kabenla ARTHUR – St. Francis of Assisi Friary/Novitiate in Saltpond; Friar Stephen Oscar AMO NENYI – St. Anthony of Padua Friary in Sunyani; and Friar Eugene Harrison Owusu ANTWI-BOASIAKO – St Francis of Assisi Friary in Takoradi.
The Heads of Formation are Friar Bernard Atsu NANEWODO – Director of the Postulancy Program; Friar Moses Kabenla ARTHUR – Novice Master; and Friar Anthony Senanu ASUH – Director of the Postnovitiate.
Those elected to other offices are Friar Anthony Senanu ASUH – Head of the Initial Formation Commission; Friar Eugene Harrison Owusu ANTWI-BOASIAKO – Head of the Ongoing Formation Commission; Friar Joseph Kwame BLAY – Head of the Justice and Peace and Integrity of Creation; Friar Stephen O. AMO NENYI – Director of the Sacred Heart School in Sunyani; Friar Francis Pascal AFFUM – Director of the St. Francis of Assisi School in Accra; Friar Emmanuel Kofi OCRAN – Director of the St. Francis of Assisi School in Takoradi; Friar Daniel Jr. PAL – Director of the Franciscan Press; and Friar Derrick Amenyo Yao BRESSEY – Director of Franciscan Publications.
The Chapter concluded on July 29, 2022.
