On Wednesday, February, 19, 2020, all of the formators and their assistants from the Provincial Custody of St. Anthony of Padua in Ghana, met with the Vicar Custos, Friar Eugene ANTWI BOASIAKO, for their annual meeting to deliberate on issues concerning formation in the Custody. The meeting took place in Accra, Ghana.

The session began with a reflection by Friar David KWAW, the Chairman of the Ongoing Formation Commission, on “The Role of an Effective Franciscan Formator.” Among other things, he emphasized the values of service, humility, daily presence and patience in formation. He said that formators should be living witnesses for the young friars.
For his part, Friar Eugene presented the formators with some passages taken from the ecclesial Magisterium on consecrated life. He also encouraged the formators to instill our rich Franciscan values in the friars they form, through word and deed.
Later, the formators presented reports on their formation programs and spent some time sharing their experiences.
