On Friday, January, 14, 2022, the solemnly professed friars of the Provincial Custody of St. Anthony of Padua in Ghana met in Elmina, Ghana, for their annual fraternal gathering. Friar Anthony Bezo KUTIERO, the Assistant General for the African Federation of Conventual Franciscans (AFCOF) was also present at the gathering.

The gathering was a time for the friars to discuss the joys and challenges they experience at their various friaries and apostolates. The friars also took part in some fun games like “tombola” during which they won prizes. The participating friars came from Sunyani, Takoradi, Saltpond and Accra in Ghana.
The Vicar Custos, Friar Eugene ANTWI BOASIAKO, was grateful to all the friars for their collaboration during 2021 and urged them to continually work together as brothers. He also reminded them that each friar needs to prepare for the upcoming Ordinary Custodial Chapter, which will be celebrated in July of 2022. He prayed that the fraternity may have a fruitful year.
