July 29, 2023, was a joyful day as the Provincial Custody of St. Anthony of Padua in Ghana celebrated the first profession of vows of twelve friars who had just completed their novitiate year. Six of the friars were from Ghana and the other six were from Burkina Faso.

The simple but colorful celebration took place at the Franciscan Valley of Prayer and Silence in Saltpond, Ghana. It was presided over by the Provincial Custos, Friar Vitus Edem Yao MENSAH. Others present included friars from Ghana and Burkina Faso, friends of the friars, and family members of the newly professed.
The newly professed friars are Marc SIDIBE; Joel SANOU; Justice Mensah DOGBEY; Philip Waye MANU; Stephen Henry Yaw QUIST; Louis SAWADOGO; Marshal James Dery NUOYONG; Jean Marie Kabore TOUWENDSIDA; Jules BATIONO; Florentin Folorusho ADETOLA; Ebenezer ASANTE and Isaac Jojo PRAH. We offer our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to these friars as they continue their Franciscan formation.
