On Saturday, July 25, 2020, the Provincial Custody of St. Anthony of Padua in Ghana celebrated the first profession of temporary vows of twelve novices and the 50th anniversary of Friar George ABRAM’s ordination to the priesthood. The events were celebrated at the Franciscan Valley of Prayer and Silence in Saltpond, Ghana.

The Vicar Custos, Friar Eugene ANTWI BOASIAKO, received the vows of the novices in the presence of other confreres from Accra, Takoradi, Elmina and Sunyani. Ten of the newly professed friars belong to the Custody of Ghana while the other two come from Uganda and Burkina Faso. The newly professed are Friars Justice Kwame YALLEY, Guenole Ziem DA, Francis MUSAANYA, Matthew MENSAH, Honore Kionbi KABORE, Nicholas Opiesaw ENNIN, Emmanuel OSEI, Dennis Dei AGYEKUM, Isaac ASAMOAH, Dominic Kwame ACKOM, Clement Nwoza MENSAH and Richmond Panyin ASSAFUAH.
Finally, Friar George Abram received a commendation from the Custody for his service to the Order and the Republic of Ghana in the area of healthcare. Congratulations friars!
