On April 2-6, 2018 the Minister General, Friar Marco TASCA, visited the Provincial Custody of St. Anthony of Padua in Ghana, of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy).

The main reason for the visit was to give thanks to God for forty years of presence in this country by the Order of Friars Minor Conventual. In addition, the visit was the start of a general canonical visitation being presently carried out by the Delegate of the Minister General, Friar Tadeusz ŚWIĄTKOWSKI, the Assistant General for the African Federation of Conventual Franciscans (AFCOF).
During his visit, the Minister General was accompanied by the Assistant General and Friar Bruno VENTURATO, a confrere who has worked in this mission for many years and is now serving at the Order’s General Curia in Rome.
Currently, the Custody is engaged in various services and activities: mass-media (printing and publishing), vocation formation, the Valley of Prayer and Silence retreat center in Saltpond, parish ministry, education, health ministry (a national level commitment to eradicate leprosy) and charity towards the neediest.
