On January 25-29, 2021, the Province of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. in Japan celebrated the second part of its Ordinary Provincial Chapter. The event was held at the convent of the Congregation of the Caritas Sisters of Jesus near the city of Beppu, Japan.

The Chapter was presided over by Friar Lucas TANIZAKI, the new Minister Provincial, who had been elected during the first part of the Chapter. Friar Benedetto BAEK, Assistant General for the Federation of Asian Minors Conventual (FAMC), and the Minister General, Friar Carlos TROVARELLI, were also present.
Friar Carlos arrived in Japan on January 3, 2021, and remained under quarantine for fourteen days in the Provincial Curia in Honbu near Tokyo. After his quarantine, he visited the friaries around Tokyo, as well as a house of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi, close to our friary in Kameari.
The Capitulars welcomed Friar Carlos with joy and gratitude; he had been unable to participate in the first part of the Chapter due to the pandemic.
When the Chapter concluded, the Minister General stayed on to visit all the communities of the Province, including those on the Island of Amami Ōshima.
