On February 15, 2023, members of Roman VI [a union of the Delegates General for JPIC belonging to the six branches of the Franciscan family in Rome] gathered at the General Curia of the Capuchin Franciscans in Rome. They were also invited to join their Capuchin Brothers for lunch.
The first item on the agenda was the election of officers for the next two years. Friar Michael LASKY, OFM Conv., was elected President and Sister Nancy CELASCHI, OSF, was re-elected Secretary.
Time was spent discussing several common initiatives including the JPIC contributions to the upcoming anniversaries of St. Francis. The participants also hosted an online meeting with Franciscans International (FI) at the United Nations using the Zoom Internet platform. The FI Executive Director, Friar Markus HEINZE, OFM, and FI Outreach Officer, Friar Benedict AYODI, OFM Cap., expressed a desire to update a Memorandum of Understanding between FI and Roman VI, as a means of increasing collaboration.
The participants were also asked to share news of a job opening for a new Executive Director at Franciscans International. Members of the Franciscan Family who are interested in the position are asked to apply by February 28, 2023. For more information, click HERE.
