On Saturday, August 14, 2021, the Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe, Friars Robin THEKKETHOTTATHIL and Sasun RAJAPAKSE made their solemn profession.

Friar Sasun RAJAPAKSE professed his solemn vows in the chapel of the St. Antony Friary in Katana, Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is now the first solemnly professed Conventual Franciscan friar from Sri Lanka. The Mass was presided over by Friar Martin PALLIKKARA, Delegate of the Minister Provincial and Director of the St. Francis Mission in Sri Lanka. Friar Sijo NJARAKULATH concelebrated, along with Friar Arun, OFM Cap. A number of other confreres were also present. Because of government restrictions regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, only our friars and a few family members were allowed to attend the celebration. On the same day, Friar Robin THEKKETHOTTATHIL professed his solemn vows in the chapel of the Kolbe Franciscan Ashram, in Aluva, Kerala, India.
The Mass was presided over by Friar Bonaventure KALLUVETTUKUZHIYIL, Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Maximilian Kolbe in India. Friars Roger VAZHAPPILLY and Paul POTHANATTUVELIYIL concelebrated and a number of other confreres were also present. Because of government restrictions regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, only our friars and a few family members were allowed to attend the celebration.
