On April 6-10, 2021, a course was held for the young, post-novitiate friars of the Province of Mary Immaculate in Indonesia. The event took place at the St. Bonaventure Formation House in Sinaksak, Pematangsiantar, Indonesia.

Twenty-eight post-novices participated, coordinated by Friar Fictorium Natanael M. GINTING. During the course, the friars learned about general aspects of the Franciscan Sources in order to gradually deepen their Franciscan charism. Other topics that emerged included the biographies of St. Francis of Assisi, in particular those by Thomas of Celano and St. Bonaventure. The program was conducted in a very active and participatory way. The material that was provided to support the course, covered knowledge of Franciscan spirituality, and the writings and biographies of Franciscan saints. The participating friars appreciated this program for the opportunity it gave them to learn more about Francis and Franciscan spirituality.
The event was a time of study, prayer, relationship, fraternity and manual work. We would like to thank the Province’s Initial Formation Commission for this beautiful and important opportunity.
