On October 1-5, 2018, the Assistant General for FEMO, Friar Jacek CIUPIŃSKI, visited the friars who live and provide pastoral service in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
During his visit, the friars discussed and gave their opinions about the possibility of building a new home for the friars and their future activities. The same question was presented to the local ordinary, the Most Reverend Tomasz PETA, Archbishop of Astana.
Also during his visit, the Assistant General celebrated the Transitus and the solemnity of the Seraphic Father St. Francis. He was joined by the friars of the community, the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul and the faithful of the parish.
The members of FEMO (Foederatio Europae Mediae et Orientalis) come from the OFM Conv. Jurisdictions of Belarus, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary and Uzbekistan.
