On March 22, 2025, the Province of St. Francis of Assisi in Kenya had the great joy of celebrating the priestly ordination of Friars Samuel Ndunda MUVEA, Remmy Simiyu MUKHWANA and Samuel Masinde WEKESA. The ordinations took place at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church in Limuru, Kenya.

The lively liturgical celebration was enhanced by local songs and dances, making the day more beautiful and memorable. The presider was the Most Reverend Hubertus Matheus Maria VAN MEGEN, Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and South Sudan.
In his homily, the nuncio stated that Christ has given us His Body and Blood. Likewise, priests are called to unite with Christ and offer their lives for others. He recalled St. Francis’ deep reverence for the Eucharist. He also stressed that religious priests are called to love and cherish community life because they are ordained for the good of the community.
The same message was echoed by Vicar Provincial and Pastor of the church in Limuru, Friar Joseph Kikuyu MUNGUTI, who stressed that the community life of a Franciscan priest should shape his actions and not vice versa.
The Minister Provincial, Friar Hillary Omondi RADUK, thanked the nuncio for his willingness to attend and provide guidance whenever needed. He also congratulated the new priests, giving them their letters of obedience.
