On February 2, 2024, the feast of the Presentation of the Lord, the Ministers General of the First Order and the Third Order Regular published a letter addressed to the entire Franciscan Family regarding the 750th anniversary of the death of St. Bonaventure of Bagnoregio (July 15, 1274).

Our Ministers General are asking all Franciscan brothers and sisters to learn more about the Seraphic Doctor, in particular, who he was as a master of theology, as a minister of the Minorite Order and as a mystic of love for God. Through his work and writings, St. Bonaventure continues to be a model and guide for us in our discipleship of the Lord Jesus. Thus, this letter is entitled: “St. Bonaventure: A Voice Still Relevant Today.”
Finally, we invite everyone to read this text, and we remind you that in addition to English, there are translations available in Italian, Croatian, French, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and German.
