On Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at noon, the funeral of Friar Franciszek TARGOŃSKI was celebrated at the San Bonaventura Chapel of the Seraphicum International College in Rome.

The celebration was presided over by the Minister General, Friar Carlos TROVARELLI, with the entire community of the Seraphicum in attendance, along with representatives of the General Houses in Rome, and friars from all over the world who were staying at the Seraphicum in order to participate in the Order’s fraternal Midway Meeting.
Friar Franciszek TARGOŃSKI, was a Doctor of Moral Theology at the Alphonsian Academy. He began teaching at the St. Bonaventure Pontifical Theological Faculty in Rome in the mid-1970s and became a full professor in 2006. He has worked on a large number of academic and popular publications. He passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of seventy-six, after having lived nearly fifty-nine years of his life in the Order and having served fifty years as a priest. Friar Franciszek will be finally buried in Niepokalanów, Poland, where, in 1961, he embarked on the formation journey that led him to become a Friar Minor Conventual.
At the end of the celebration, the friars, intoning the Salve Sancte Pater, expressed their final heartfelt farewell to this dear confrere, thanking God for his presence, his example and the teaching he handed down to so many generations of students.
