On November 23-25, 2024, the International Assistant for the Militia of the Immaculata (M.I.), Friar Gilson Miguel NUNES, visited the M.I. of the Italian Region of the Marches for the first time.
On Saturday, November 23, he conducted a fraternal meeting with the Regional Council, whose members include the Regional President, Simona SAMPAOLESI; the Vice President, Giovanni GENTILINI; and Councilors Rossella PETROSELLI, Stefano VĂTĂMĂNELU, Mariantonietta SOLOFRA and Andrea Gallina FIORINI. The meeting took place at the San Giuseppe da Copertino Friary in Osimo, Italy.
The next day, Friar Gilson presided over a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Emmanuele Church (Sacro Cuore di Gesù Parish) in Trodica, Italy, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the M.I. Group in Trodica. Also present was the promoter of this wonderful initiative, Friar Sergio COGNIGNI, the Regional Assistant of the M.I. for the Italian Region of Lazio together with the local Pastor, Father Paolo CANALE, who hosted the event. After the Mass, a festive lunch was served and a meeting took place with the Militia members from Trodica as well as other M.I. groups who joined the event, namely, the groups from Tolentino, Fermo, Osimo and Ancona. During the afternoon meeting, Friar Benone BUTACU, Regional Assistant of the M.I. of the Marches, also took part.
The visit was a wonderful time to experience life in the Region of the Marches. Heartfelt thanks to the entire local Council of the M.I. group in Trodica, namely, the President, Cristina TACCHETTO, the Vice President Francesca MAZZIERI, and Councilors Melissa GIUSTI, Ada COGNIGNI, Giorgio GATTAFONI and Franco BRACONI. Thanks as well to Friar Sergio COGNIGNI who organized the meeting.
Finally, on Monday, November 25, 2024, Friar Gilson celebrated Mass at the Santa Chiara Church in the Monastery of the Poor Clares in Osimo. He entrusted the path of the M.I. and all of its members around the world to the prayers of the sisters.
