On August 8 and 9, 2024, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Blessed Michał TOMASZEK and Zbigniew STRZAŁKOWSKI was celebrated in Pariacoto, Peru, as it is every year. This year marked the 33rd anniversary of this event.
The celebrations for the occasion included praying the Stations of the Cross on the way to the site of the martyrdom, followed by Mass. Next, the Most Reverend Ángel Ernesto ZAPATA BANCES, Bishop of Chimbote, Peru, presided over the main Mass for the feast day. This year, the youth of Pariacoto presented a theatrical performance about the Martyrs. Moreover, awards were handed out to the winners of a poetry competition about the Blessed Friars and the winning poems were read out. The competition was organized by the local elementary school. Additionally, a large group of faithful pilgrims participated in the main Mass and filled the church to capacity.
