In October of 2023, a spiritual retreat was conducted in four rounds in the special setting of a hermitage.
The retreat was led by Friar Piotr STANISŁAWCZYK, the General Delegate for Formation. The event was held in a small mountain cabin belonging to the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow). The cabin was located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains near Zakopane, Poland. Three friars from different Provinces within the Foederatio Europae Mediae et Orientalis (FEMO) participated during each round. These retreats were organized, in particular, for friars wishing to reflect on the Word of God in small groups, in an atmosphere of silence and meditation. The entire retreat program was based on lectio divina and the friars discussed the Gospel readings they heard at daily Mass. Housekeeping and meal preparation were taken care of by the retreat leader; therefore there was no shortage of homemade bread and hospitality.
