On March 4-13, 2018, Friar Jacek CIUPIŃSKI, the Assistant General for the Federatio Europae Mediae et Orientalis (FEMO) made a fraternal visit to the Czech Republic.

The visit began with a spiritual retreat for all the friars of the Province of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in the Czech Republic. As traditional, the retreat took place in Prague. During the retreat, the friars listened to two conferences, one by Friar Benedict MOHELNIK (Order of Preachers) on the practice of the vow of poverty in the current situation of the Church in the Czech Republic. The other, by Friar Jacek, was about preparing for the Extraordinary General Chapter.
Everyone took part in Mass, the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Via Crucis. The visit ended with a fraternal agape meal. During the meal, friars with name days or birthdays around this time were celebrated.
Subsequently, the Assistant General had the opportunity to visit all of the friaries, and to speak with all of the friars about the Province’s present status and future plans.
The Province currently has seventeen friars in in five friaries: Prague, Jihlava, Brno, Opava and Krnov. The Province has three friars in initial formation in Bratislava, Slovakia, and three postulants in Głogówek, Poland.
