On September 17, 2021, the post-novitiate community of Rivotorto, Assisi returned from its summer break to start a new year of formation.

After some arrivals and departures, the roster of new and continuing students enrolled for the 2021/22 formative year includes Friars Daniele REITANO, Emanuele ANTINORI, Ettore FILIPPUCCI, Alessandro D’ANTONI, Massimiliano COLA, Michele DE GREGORIO, and Vinicio PIAGGI—all from the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua (Northern Italy); Friar Francesco LEO from the Province of St. Nicholas and St. Angelo in Italy (Puglia); Friar Carmine SURACE from the Provincial Custody of St. Daniel and Companion Martyrs in Italy (Calabria); Friar Francesco ZHAO from the General Custody of the Sacred Convent of St. Francis in Italy (Assisi); and Friar Domenico TORRE from the Province of St. Agatha and St. Lucy in Italy (Sicily). The formation team is comprised of Friar Antonio PARISI, Rector; Friar Giovanni WANG, Vice Rector and Friar Gianni CAPPELLETTO, Spiritual Director.
On Sunday, September 19, during the parish Mass at 6:30 p.m., presided over by the Custodial Vicar, Friar Teofìl PETRIŞOR, all the members of the newly comprised community had a chance to introduce themselves to the faithful present, who, as always, made their affection felt.
On September 23-25, a programming retreat was held at the Hermitage of the Trinity in Assisi, where in addition to planning the new year, the friars talked about their personal experiences in order to get to know each other better, and to strengthen the bonds of fraternity. The retreat ended with a visit to the Most Reverend Domenico SORRENTINO, Bishop of Assisi, who, in his usual friendly and cordial manner, explained the contents of his pastoral letter for this new year.
