On March 8, 2019, the cause for the beatification and canonization of the Servant of God Friar Antonio MANSI was officially introduced on the premises of the Vicariate of Rome. Friar Antonio MANSI was a co-founder of the Militia of the Immaculate.
The solemn rite was presided over by the Most Reverend Gianrico RUZZA, Auxiliary Bishop of Rome, in the presence of the Most Reverend Gianfranco GIROTTI, OFM Conv., Titular Bishop of Meta; Friar Cosimo ANTONINO, the Minister Provincial of the Province of the Seraphic Father St. Francis in Italy (Naples) along with his Vicar Provincial, Friar Paolo GALANTE; the heads of the M.I. in Italy (the President, Assistant and the Presidency Council); Friar Gianfranco GRIECO an authoritative biographer of MANSI; Friar Valentin REDONDO, the Guardian of the Friary of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Rome; Friar Umberto FANFARILLO, the Pastor of Santa Dorotea church in Rome; Mr. Ulisse di PALMA, Deputy Mayor of Ravello (Salerno, Italy) and finally, members of the Mansi family.
After the ritual oath of the members of the tribunal and Vice Postulator, Friar Raffaele DI MURO, Bishop RUZZA highlighted the magnificent example of MANSI, hoping that in the future, he may become a model for young friars in formation and for those who entrust themselves to the Immaculate. The Bishop also reminded everyone that St. Maximilian M. KOLBE was a great admirer of this confrere, whom he considered to be an exemplary friar.
This important event was characterized by joy and deep feeling, which pays tribute to this young and authoritative representative of the Friars Minor Conventual and the Militia of the Immaculate.
