On March 15-22, 2025, the Presidency of the International Council of the Secular Franciscan Order (CIOFS) conducted its spring session at the Seraphicum College in Rome.
The meeting began on Saturday, March 15, at 5:00 p.m. The agenda included several key points: an evaluation of the Intermediate General Chapter of the Secular Franciscan Order (OFS) held November 9-17, 2024; spiritual and juridical formation; updates and planning by the seven area Councilors of the OFS and the representative of Franciscan Youth (YouFra); updates from the various Secretariats; admission to profession for new members in Kazakhstan and Senegal; and the admission to formation for new members in Ghana and Senegal.
On Wednesday, March 19, at 6:00 p.m., the CIOFS Presidency Council met with the Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor, Friar Massimo FUSARELLI, and his Definitory, at their General Curia in Rome. The purpose of the meeting was to deepen mutual understanding between the two Councils and to share a brief moment of fraternal fellowship, with the aim of strengthening collaboration between the Secular Franciscans and the First Order Franciscans. The day’s program concluded with dinner shared with the friars of the General Curia of the Friars Minor.
The work of the CIOFS Presidency Council concluded on Saturday, March 22, at 12:30 p.m.
