On May 21-25, 2018, the CEF Federation Assembly was held at the friary in Roman, Romania.

All members of the Centralis Europae Foederatio (CEF) were present. CEF members include Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Croatia, Slovenia and Sweden. The Delegate of the Scandinavian mission was an exception. Friar Bernhardin SEITHER, Minister Provincial of the Province of Saint Elizabeth in Germany, presided. The meeting was attended by the Custos of the Provincial Custody of Blessed Agnellus of Pisa in Great Britain-Ireland, Friar Ciprian BUDĂU, (his first time), as well as the Assistant General for the CEF, Friar Miljenko HONTIĆ.
This time, the assembly was held outside the CEF territory, because the Delegation of Romanian friars in Germany was designated to host the meeting. Members of CEF were invited to Romania to learn more about this Province. The meeting’s topics included updates from the Jurisdictions, news from the General Curia, news from the Order at large, an evaluation of the last meeting for post-novices and planning for the next one, preparations for the Extraordinary General Chapter and the quality of life in our Jurisdictions.
One day was dedicated to visiting some of the friaries in the Province: Cacica and Nisiporesti which features the tomb of the Servant of God, Veronica ANTAL. Later, the friars visited some Orthodox monasteries including Carmazani and Voronet, the “Sistine Chapel” of Eastern Europe. Finally, the friars visited the monastery of our Poor Clares. One evening was dedicated to visiting the “Peace Foundation” social center and “Green Time,” the Province’s plant nursery.
After the meeting, the Minister Provincial of Germany and the Assistant for the CEF met with the Minister Provincial of Romania, Friar Teofil PETRIŞOR, along with the Delegate of the Romanian friars in Germany, Friar Gabriel BUDĂU, and the Definitor appointed to look after this Delegation, Friar Ştefan ACATRINEI. Their meeting was called to talk about developing closer collaboration between the friars in Germany.
