Nearly a year after her beatification, the feast of Blessed Veronica ANTAL was celebrated for the first time on August 23-26, 2019, in Nisiporești, (Neamț County), Romania.
Veronica ANTAL was born in the small village of Nisiporești, Romania. Despite having lived only twenty-three years, she is inspirational not only for her martyrdom, but also because of her love for the Eternal Spouse, whom she longed to meet. During her short life, she prepared herself with assiduous prayer and simple works of charity.
The feast of Blessed Veronica was celebrated with specific spiritual events: the Via Crucis, the recitation of the Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, Mass and a pilgrimage to the place where Veronica was martyred. She suffered forty-two stab wounds, sacrificing her life in defense of her virginity. At that moment, she held the Rosary in her hands, the instrument with which she defended herself against her aggressor.
The Nisiporești community welcomed a large number of pilgrims, friars and priests for the feast, including the Most Reverend Iosif PĂULEȚ, the new Bishop of Iași, Romania. Together, the participants all glorified God for the gift of Blessed Veronica and gathered in devout prayer around her tomb.
Blessed Veronica ANTAL, pray for us!
