The Formation Commission of the Provincial Custody of Mary Mother of Mercy in Central America meets three times year. Two of those meetings are held inside formation houses: the postulancy house in Costa Rica and the post-novitiate house in El Salvador.

The Commission’s most recent meeting was held inside the post-novitiate house in El Salvador during the last week of July 2023―a suitable time due to the academic break.
One of the reasons for the meeting was to visit to the formation house and interview or meet with the friars in formation. Another reason for the meeting was to define an overall formational vision, starting at the level of the postulancy, as set forth in the updated Formation Directory of the Order, under the direction of Friar Marcio Rolando MATUTE BENDE, the Coordinator of the Commission. Another reason was to discuss the formation and guidance of the friars of the Custody, particularly at the level of the diaconate, under the direction of Friar Marcos A. QUESADA NAVARRO and the Assistant General for the Federación América Latina Conventuales (FALC), Friar Rogério PEREIRA XAVIER, who participated online. The final reason for the meeting was to discuss the status of the academic centers of the Custody and nominate a post-novice to represent the students before the Formation Commission.
