On August 2, 2025, on the radiant Feast of Mary, Queen of Angels, the Provincial Custody of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Tanzania joyfully marked a profound milestone on its spiritual journey. Sixteen novices (six from Tanzania, four from Kenya, and six from Uganda) made their first profession of vows at the St. Anthony Novitiate House in Arusha, thus embracing the Franciscan Conventual way of life.

This sacred celebration was a testament to their commitment to the evangelical vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, a sign of their deep dedication to a life of service and spiritual integrity.
The Provincial Custos of the Custody of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Tanzania, Friar Denis Dominick KUNAMBI, presided over the Mass. He was joined by the Minister Provincial of Kenya, Friar Hillary Omondi RADUK, along with numerous friars from the Custody of Tanzania, all gathered in fraternal support and prayer. In his homily, Friar Abraham Nestorius MSOFFE, OFM Conv, offered a moving reflection on the meaning and depth of the three vows. He called upon the newly professed friars—and all present—to live their vocation with faithfulness, dedication, and spiritual authenticity.
The professions took place at the Makumira Outstation Church, part of the Poli Singi Parish, within the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Arusha. The serene and prayerful atmosphere provided a fitting backdrop for this grace-filled occasion.
Following the Mass, the friars and all of the attendees shared in a joyful community lunch, lovingly prepared by the friars of the Arusha community. The gathering deepened the spirit of fraternity and left a lasting impression on all the participants.
