There is important news ahead for the next academic year of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of St. Bonaventure (Seraphicum) in Rome: the Fratelli tutti Master’s Degree is being instituted.

Raffaele DI MURO, Dean of the Faculty of Theology, announced the introduction of this new program, which will begin next October and is aimed at a deeper understanding of the rich teaching of Pope Francis. The initiative will make use of some important collaborators. Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.
The goal, as stated in an interview in the monthly, St. Bonaventure Informs, (to be published this week), is to further study the teaching of Pope Francis in the academic field, understanding the very close bond between the Pope and the Franciscan world.
Friar Raffaele explains: “I see it as our commitment and responsibility to pass on what Pope Francis is offering to the whole Church and to humanity. We have a Pope who bears the name of the Saint of Assisi, a Pope who gives Franciscan names to his encyclicals, who immediately paid great attention to Assisi, creating a cardinal of Friar Mauro GAMBETTI, the Custos of the Sacred Convent. This is the first time in our history that a Custos of Assisi has been so elevated. This means that there is a very strong bond between St. Francis, and the Franciscan charism and world. The Faculty has always been called to transmit the teachings of the Magisterium. That is why today, I believe it is called more strongly than ever, to transmit the message of this most current magisterium, which is so pragmatic and attentive to what is happening.”
