Dear brothers, the mission month of October is an excellent time to inform you that Friar Gilberto DE JESUS RODRIGUES, the Minister Provincial of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Brazil, is extending an invitation to any friars who are interested to partake in a mission experience in the Amazon.
This initiative is in line with Motion no. 1 of the 2019 General Chapter, which proposes fostering “twinning among Provinces to promote the consolidation of some existing missions”. Such consolidation, in this particular case, refers to collaboration that includes solidarity of staff (Cf. Motion no 1).
Therefore, I would like to encourage any friars who discover the “divine inspiration” to be missionaries, to carefully read the proposal from the Minister Provincial of Brasilia, which is attached as a PDF in their respective languages. The friars should also view the video presentation, which shows the beauty of the evangelizing activities of friars who are living and proclaiming the Good News in the Amazon.
May the Holy Spirit, the true leader of the mission, help us, as Pope Francis says in his Message for World Mission Sunday 2023, to have “hearts on fire, feet on the move”[1], so that we might respond to the missionary needs of our brothers in Brazil.
