On January 23-24, 2024, the annual meeting of the Guardians and House Economs with the government of the Province of St. Joseph in Slovenia took place at the Blessed Anton Martin Slomšek Friary in Olimje, Slovenia.

The first day was dedicated to discussing the life of each individual friary. The Guardians (five in total) reported on the ups and downs of how we live out our vows in our communities. During this Jubilee year in which we commemorate the events at Mount La Verna, we want to learn more about the evangelical counsels and our vows, which, like the stigmata, make us similar to Christ.
We live in a time in which the great challenge before us is to build communion, a fraternity that gives rise to prophetic vision, sacred inspirations that embrace the friars and helps them work as one. In this context, we sought answers to certain questions: “What are the specific prospects and missions of our friaries, given the places and times in which we live?” How do we realize these prospects? Our fraternal life and faithfulness to our vows give witness to us and are the greatest apostolate of our time. The second day of the meeting was dedicated to presentations on our financial status and the management of the Province and the individual friaries.
