On April 9-12, 2018, the Conventual Franciscans of the Province of St. Joseph of Cupertino in the USA held the first part of their Ordinary Provincial Chapter at the St. Joseph of Cupertino friary in Castro Valley, California.
Twenty-two delegates were present along with Friar Marco TASCA, the Minister General; Friar Benedict BAEK, the Assistant General for the Federation of Asian Minor Conventuals (FAMC); and Friar Jude WINKLER, the Assistant General for the Conventual Franciscan Federation (CFF). Friar Victor ABEGG was elected as the Minister Provincial; Friar Jacob CARAZO as the Vicar Provincial; Friar James REITER as the Provincial Secretary; and Friars Paul GAWLOWSKI and Thomas CZECK as Definitors. Among the topics of greatest importance discussed was the growth of the Provincial Delegation in Vietnam. A number of friars from Vietnam were present for the Chapter.
The second part of the Chapter will take place on June 11-14 of this year.
