On Saturday, February 8, 2025, for the glory of God and the good of the Church and the Order, the friars of the Provincial Custody of Our Lady of Coromoto in Venezuela gathered to witness the solemn profession of Friar Gabriel GARCÍA GONZÁLEZ.

The liturgy was celebrated in the chapel of the San José de Cupertino Friary and Formation House in Palmira, State of Táchira, Venezuela. The Provincial Custos, Friar Franklin DURÁN ZAMBRANO, presided. Friar Gabriel, who has taken the religious name Gabriel of Corpus Christi, now has all the rights and obligations of a solemnly professed Conventual Franciscan friar. At the end of the Mass, he thanked God for choosing and calling him, and for looking upon him with mercy. He sang a song to express his gratitude.
It was a day of joy and fraternal fellowship for the friars and the men in formation. Members of the Secular Franciscan Order (OFS) and other lay persons near the San José de Cupertino Friary and Formation House, helped take care of all of the details for this liturgical celebration. The serene rite of profession was rich with symbols. After the Mass, those present celebrated the newly solemnly professed friar with a moment of fellowship as they took part in a fraternal agape meal.
May the joy of salvation be with us all!

Friar Carlos ORTÍZ ROJAS, Custodial Secretary
