From September 26 to October 1, 2022, the friars of the Friary of St. Anthony at the Baths (“La Vigna”), one of the General Houses of Rome, conducted a spiritual retreat at the San Francesco Friary in Tagliacozzo, Italy, a presence of the Province of St. Bernardine and St. Angelo in Italy (Abruzzo-Molise).

The retreat was led by Friars Carmine TERENZIO and Attilio TERENZIO on the theme, “Following the Acts of the Apostles.” During the week, there were morning and afternoon sessions, at which time, the friars reflected on Christian life in the early Church, a Christian life that is certainly linked to our Franciscan life, starting from the beginning of the Order to the present day.
In addition to the content provided, the retreat leaders offered reflections on how they personally live out their call in the concrete setting of this friary, where the friars before them have left their mark through the example they set in living community life, Franciscan life and Christian life, attentive to others. This last aspect could be seen in the commitment shown by the resident friars and the lay people working with them, whose service and collaboration helped make this weeklong retreat a success.
During the retreat, the friars from La Vigna enjoyed several community moments, including a meeting with the Minister Provincial of Abruzzo, Friar Mauro M. DE FILIPPIS DELFICO.
They are infinitely grateful to the friars of the San Francesco Friary for hosting them with such a great spirit of fraternity.
