On Saturday, September 11, 2021, ten deacons were ordained to the priesthood through the laying on of hands by the Most Reverend Patrick CHISANGA, OFM Conv., Bishop of Mansa, Zambia. The ceremony took place at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Ndola, Zambia.

Five of the newly ordained were diocesan priests. They are Fathers Nsama CHONGO, Enoch KAPAMBWE, Desire MULENGA, Henry MULENGA and Charles MUNUNGWE.
The others were religious priests. They are Fathers Stewart MWANSA, OFM Cap.; Teddy CHIFUMBANO, OFM Cap.; John KAWISHA, Scalabrinian Missionaries; Chewe MWESH, Apostolic Missions Society; and our own confrere Friar Francis MULENGA, from the Province of the Franciscan Protomartyrs in Zambia.
Friar Francis was born in Kitwe, Zambia on April 15, 1992. He made his simple profession on August 3, 2013, his solemn profession on July 14, 2018, and was ordained a deacon on August 29, 2020.
May our confrere always carry out his ministry guided by the following of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the blessing of our Seraphic Father St. Francis of Assisi.
