On June 6, 2024, the 22nd Annual Solidarity Concert: “With the Heart in the Name of Francis” took place in the square in front of the Upper Basilica of the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi. The event was emceed by the popular showman, Carlo CONTI.
The concert is a major television event. For years, it has been realized thanks to the tireless efforts of Friar Enzo FORTUNATO. It is broadcast live, during the early evening, on Italy’s public television channel RAI1. There were about a thousand spectators seated on the lawn in the square of the Upper Basilica.
The concert featured nationally renowned singers. Speakers gave testimonials of solidarity and missionary service. They all took turns encouraging everyone to donate and support the charitable works of the Friars Minor Conventual and various Church-based projects being carried out in Italy and around the world, including Palestine, Haiti and countries in Africa.
You can still make your financial contribution by sending a text message, or calling 45515, from an Italian phone. You could also go to https://www.conilcuore.info/.
The Minister General, Friar Carlos TROVARELLI, attended the concert, along with many members of the Order and the Franciscan Family.
