On February 9, 2019, the Provincial Custody of the Immaculate Conception of the B.V.M. in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) held a Silver Jubilee event for its confreres celebrating twenty-five years of Conventual Franciscan religious life. The honorees were Friars Ronaldo GOMES DA SILVA, Carlos Roberto de Oliveira CHARLES, Donil ALVES SILVA JÚNIOR and Ignácio Silva FÁBREGAS.
The celebratory Mass was presided over by the Most Reverend Roque COSTA SOUZA, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro. The Most Reverend Elias James MANNING, Bishop Emeritus of Valença, Rio de Janeiro, concelebrated. The Mass was held at the St. Francis of Assisi church in Rio Largo, Rio de Janeiro.
Many faithful from area parishes participated, along with the friars, a lot of friends, diocesan priests, and men and women religious. Some convivial festivities took place after the Mass.
