On March 6, 2021, the Provincial Custody of St. Francis of Assisi in Colombia joyfully celebrated the priestly ordination of Friar Nelson Yesid CARVAJAL SIERRA.
The celebration took place at the San Andrés Apostol Church in San Andrés (Department of Santander), Colombia, the home town of our confrere, Friar Nelson Yesid. The ordination was presided over by the Most Reverend José Libardo GARCÉS MONSALVE, Bishop of Málaga-Soatá, Columbia. The bishop urged the new priest to be a visible sign of God’s mercy and love, with a simple, joyful lifestyle, being open to everyone according to the form of life of St. Francis of Assisi. Friars from the various fraternities of the Custody were present at the Mass, as well as some priests from the local diocese.
May Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, continue to guide our confrere on the path of fidelity and generous dedication, giving witness with his life to Jesus and his Gospel, for the benefit of the Church and our Order.
