On the evening of October 17, 2019, as customary, the commemoration of the foundation of the Militia of the Immaculate (M.I.) was held in the Friary of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Rome.

Actress Maria Pia IANNUZZI performed a brief monologue entitled Simone and Francis, which reinterpreted the life of Simone WEIL in the light of the message of the Poverello of Assisi and the testimony of St. Maximilian Kolbe. The monologue was introduced by Professor Anna Rita INNOCENZI of La Sapienza University and written by Luigina CONGI. The large audience in attendance enjoyed the performance.
A Mass was then celebrated. The presider was Friar Raffaele DI MURO (Delegate of the Minister General for the M.I.). In his homily, he spoke about the prophecies of St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. John Paul II as they regarded the path of the M.I.
The commemoration event was co-introduced by the Guardian, Friar Valentín REDONDO and Angela MORAIS, the newly elected International President of the M.I.
It was a time of sharing and enormously deep spiritual reflection.
