On October 16-17, 2023, the friars of the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in South Korea gathered to celebrate a two-day Provincial Assembly. The event took place at the retreat house of the St. Francis Friary in Seoul. This was the second time the friars were able to gather in person, following their Assembly in February of 2023.
Fifty-four friars participated in the Assembly, during which, they reflected on the life and activities of the Province as well as other topics.
On the first day, Friar Giuseppe NOH, the Provincial Econom, gave a presentation explaining the financial status of the Jurisdiction. Next, the Guardians shared news from their fraternities.
On the second day, Friar Bonaventura Kyuhee HAN, the Provincial Secretary, read a report on the canonical visitation conducted by Friar Jude WINKLER. Next, the Assistant General for the Federation of Asian Minor Conventuals (FAMC), Friar Benedetto BAEK, spoke about the preparation process for the next Provincial Chapter. Finally, the Presidents of the Commissions shared news on the work of their respective Commissions.
The Assembly concluded with Mass presided over by the Minister Provincial, Friar Marco JEONG.
