On April 12-15, 2018, the international council of Franciscans International (FI) held its first meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
The council is made up of representatives of the Franciscan family, plus a representative from the Anglican Franciscan confraternity.
After serving two terms on the council, Friar Jude WINKLER, OFM Conv., and Friar Benedict AYODI, OFM Cap., have resigned. They have been replaced by Friar Joseph BLAY, OFM Conv. and Friar James DONEGAN, OFM Cap. The appointments of both friars were approved by the Conference of the Franciscan Family (CFF) and were accepted by their respective Ministers General. The second FI meeting will be held next November in New York (USA).
