From January 8-12, 2018, Friar Alfred PARAMBAKATHU, the General Assistant for the Secular Franciscan Order (OFS), preached the annual spiritual retreat for our friars in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The theme of the retreat was “The Topicality of St. Francis’ Spirituality as Reflected in His Life and Writings.” The retreat took place at the retreat center next to the Franciscan friary in Subukia, Kenya.
On Sunday, January 14, Friar Alfred met with the OFS National Council in Kenya. The Secular Franciscans greatly appreciate the spiritual assistance of our friars.
In the evening of January 16, Friar Alfred held a meeting with our clerical students at the College of St. Bonaventure in Nairobi. He spoke about the presence of the Secular Franciscans in the world and the spiritual assistance the friars should provide for them.
The Provincial Custody of St. Francis of Assisi in Kenya is dependent on the Province of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Poland (Gdansk). The Provincial Custody of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe in Tanzania is dependent on the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw). The Provincial Delegation of Uganda is dependent on the Province of St. Anthony and Bl. James of Strepar in Poland (Cracow).
