On March 19, 2024, the Conference of Ministers General of the Franciscan First Order and the Third Order Regular published a letter on Spiritual Assistance to the Secular Franciscan Order (OFS) and Franciscan Youth (YouFra).
In this letter, the Ministers General invite the entire Franciscan Family to creatively bear witness to the charism through concrete events, especially as we continue our celebration of the Franciscan Jubilees as a family. Furthermore, these events should generate collaboration between lay people and religious, a fruitful relationship which St. Francis himself, moved by the Holy Spirit, also desired.
The Ministers General also pointed out that spiritual assistance to the OFS and YouFra is part of the same Franciscan vocation, and that our celebration of the Franciscan Centenary can also be a good opportunity to recall the commitments that unite the Franciscan Orders to the Secular Franciscan Order.
