On Saturday May 11, 2019, the Friars Minor Conventual of the Province of the Immaculate Mother of God in Poland (Warsaw) celebrated the ordinations of three deacons and a priest.
Presiding over the ordinations was the Most Reverend Edward KAWA, OFM Conv., Auxiliary Bishop of Lviv, the Ukraine (since 2017).
Friars Jakub KAMIŃSKI, Aleksiej M. JUCHNIEWICZ and Łukasz M. ROMBEL were ordained to the diaconate; while Friar Bartosz M. BOGUCKI was ordained to the priesthood.
The ordination Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m., at the Shrine of St. Anthony of Padua in Łódź-Łagiewniki, Poland. In his homily, the Bishop spoke about the “vocations banquet”, referring to the passage from the Gospel of Luke (Lk 14:15-24), but in this case, it was God himself who invited us. Every vocation story is unique and different. The bishop also pointed out that it takes a lot of courage to take this path today, because even if the newly ordained have committed no offence, they are already considered guilty of everything that is wrong in the Church. In this turbulent time we need to praise God. The bishop called everyone to praise God for these newly ordained brothers. The solemn Mass was followed by a fraternal agape meal.
We wish our brothers the protection of our Queen, Mary Immaculate, as well as God’s blessing, and all the graces necessary for their future. May peace and love be with them!
