On October 18-20, 2024, the Militia of the Immaculata (M.I.) in Mexico conducted its 52nd National Congress. The event took place at the Inmaculada Concepción Friary, a former presence of the Friars Minor, in Calpan, Puebla State, Mexico. The theme of the congress was: “Like Mary and St. Maximilian, We Serve Each Other as Brothers and Sisters.”
Those attending included children, youth and adults from different states in Mexico, namely, Puebla, Veracruz, Guerrero, Morelos, Guanajuato, Mexico, and Mexico City. The M.I. National Assistant, Friar Noé GASPARIANO PRIETO, and two other friars, also attended on behalf of the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico.
There were more than 140 participants. They were hosted and assisted by the Friars Minor and local families in Calpan. The Congress was characterized by intensive days of prayer and reflection. The participants shared experiences and lived together as one family in the M.I.
Following the national congress, participants made personal, community, and ecclesial commitments to continue serving as “leaven in the midst of the masses.” This reflects their dedication to advancing the apostolic, missionary, and Marian charism of St. Maximilian M. Kolbe.
