On November 27-29, 2023, a meeting of the Superiors of the St. Maximilian M. Kolbe Province in Poland (Gdańsk) was held at the Meeting and Reconciliation House in Gdańsk. It was the Superiors’ last meeting of the 2020-24 term.
Just before the meeting began, news came from the Commission of Scrutatores that Friar Wojciech KULIG was re-elected as Minister Provincial by letter. The official salutation to all of the meeting participants became an opportunity to offer spontaneous congratulations.
The meeting began with a lecture entitled, “Managing Finances God’s Way,” given by Mr. Wojciech NOWICKI, the co-founder of an alternative investment fund.
In the evening, the friars gathered in the Holy Trinity Church for Mass. Friar Piotr PLISZKA, the Director of the Meeting and Reconciliation House, gave the homily.
The second day began with Mass in the St. Anne Chapel. Friar Jacek KORSAK, Vice-Rector of the Łódź Łagiewniki Major Seminary, gave the homily. After the liturgy, the friars gathered for a meeting to work on the report regarding the implementation of the Chapter Motions and the 2020-24 Four-Year Provincial Plan.
The third day was devoted to current events in the Province and reports from the Delegations in Lithuania and Hungary as well as the mission in Sweden. The Superior of the House, Friar Krzysztof ROBAK, gave a presentation on a new presence of the Province located in Zell am Hamersbach, Germany.
At the end of the meeting, the friars gathered in the St. Anne Chapel, where they celebrated Mass on the occasion of the name-day of the Vicar Provincial, Friar Andrzej LENGENFELD and Friar Zdzisław CIEŚLUKOWSKI, a member of the local friary. The Minister Provincial, Friar Wojciech KULIG, gave the homily.
