Dear friars, Poor Clares, and friends of our missionaries―I would like to share a video made by the friars of the Province of St. Francis of Assisi in Kenya that documents another visit that our future missionaries made to Rwanda. The visit took place on January 27-30, 2026. This event was an important time for meetings and for evaluating the progress made so far.
During their stay, our friars were hosted by the Friars Minor (OFM). The Conventual Franciscan Minister Provincial of the Province of Kenya, Friar Hillary Omondi RADUK, together with Friars Tadeusz BRZOZOWSKI, Joseph Nyaga KIBONGE, and Remmy Simiyu MUKHWANA, met with His Eminence Cardinal Antoine KAMBANDA, Archbishop of Kigali, Rwanda. The meeting, requested in view of our opening a mission in Rwanda, took place in an atmosphere of openness and dialogue.
Let me take this opportunity to thank you for the prayers you have offered thus far for this new mission of our Order. I ask you to continue your spiritual support, in the hope that our friars will soon be able to establish a permanent presence in Rwanda.
