The Province of Saints Cyril and Methodius in the Czech Republic has celebrated a joyful event. On June 22, 2019, Friar Peter MACHÁČEK was ordained a priest and Friar Patrik RYGIEL was ordained a deacon.
The ordinations took place at the cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Brno, at the hands of the Most Reverend Vojtěch Cikrle, Bishop of Brno in the Czech Republic. In his homily, the bishop encouraged the newly ordained to remain faithful to Christ in their mission and priestly ministry.
Friar Peter will be doing pastoral ministry at the Brno friary, while Friar Patrik will return to Bratislava, Slovakia, to continue his studies.
The ordinations were even more appreciated in that they took place just before July 5, the feast day of Saints Cyril and Methodius, patron saints of the Czech Province).
